Your cabin air filter is located behind your glove box. Find the stop features of the glove box, normally on the right and the left side of the glove box. Remove the fasteners holding these stop features and allow the glove box to hang free. The cabin air filter housing is behind the glove box compartment.

How do I Replace My Acura EL, RSX, RSX Type-S, Honda Civic, DX, EX, GX, HX, LX, Reverb, Si, Value Package, CR-V & Element Cabin Air Filter

  1. Open glove box compartment. Fig. 1
  2. Locate glove box stop features. In most vehicles these are located on the left and right side of the glove box.
  3. Remove fasteners holding stop features. Fig. 2 & 3
  4. When fasteners are removed, this will allow the glove box to hang free to gain access to the cabin filter housing. Fig. 4
  5. Locate cabin filter housing behind glove box compartment and remove cover from cabin filter housing. Fig. 5
  6. Remove one cabin filter tray from cabin filter housing. Slide second tray to the left and remove from the cabin filter housing. Fig. 6 & 7
  7. Remove dirty cabin filter. Fig. 8 NOTE: Remove any debris that might be present on cabin filter tray and inside the cabin filter housing.
  8. Install K&N® Cabin Filter. Cabin filter will only fit in one direction. Once filter is installed correctly the filter will sit flush inside of tray. Fig. 9
  9. Reverse steps 1-6 to complete cabin filter installation. With the cabin filter installed, clean an area on the housing and apply the K&N® Stop Decal. The decal will help notify others that this is a reusable cabin filter
